I’m going to bang out a quickie for y’all.
If you’re a loyal listener of the PreSnapPicks Podcast, you know Brad and I were blue-balled by the Colts and Eagles on our Week 1 teaser. So, this week we’re looking for a rebound. Or, as the sports world calls it, a big bounce back week.
Here is my best bet Teaser heading into Week 2:
Chiefs -2.5 (at the LA Chargers)
Need I say more? The Chiefs are the most dominant team in the NFL, and this was on full display Thursday night when they boat-raced a decent Houston Texans 34-20 at Arrowhead. Let’s be real.
Thanks to a garbage time TD, this score misrepresents how lop-sided this KC victory was.
The Clydsdale has made a historically great offense even better. Can you imagine having to defend the run when Patrick Mahomes is back there slinging the ball?
This is a nightmare proposition for any defense, and this Chargers team will have their hands full.
All I’m asking for is a Chiefs win by a field goal.
This is as close to a lock in the NFL as possible. Remember, this Chargers team squeaked out a win against the lowly Bengals, thanks to a Randy Bullock calf cramp and missed field goal as time was expiring.
The Chiefs should blow out the Chargers.
Chiefs teased down from -8.5 to -2.5 is a bet I make 100 out of 100 days.
Falcons +10.5 (at the Dallas Cowboys)
Dallas and Atlanta can score points.
Dallas and Atlanta have issues on defense, notably their secondaries.
Dallas and Atlanta are looking to avoid a 0-2 hole to start the season.
Point is: these teams are very similar but with injuries piling up for Dallas, the Falcons have a legitimate shot to win this game. Give me the Falcons teased from +4.5 to +10.5, and consider taking the Falcons on the money line at +180.
Dallas’ injuries are nothing to balk at. They are impact players.
Dallas will miss tackles Cam Erving and La’el Collins, leading to more questions for an offensive line that lost cornerstone Travis Frederick (Center) to retirement.
Dallas doesn’t have a shortage of weapons but losing Blake Jarwin for the rest of the year to an ACL injury will not make the team better.
On Defense, Sean Lee returned home to the IR and Leighton Vander Esch will join him. The strength of the Cowboys Defense (front seven) have taken significant hits which may open up the run game for Todd Gurley and further exploit the Cowboys pass defense.
Additionally, the Falcons have matched up well with the Cowboys in recent memory. Atlanta has won 3 of the last 4 contests with Dallas, and their one loss was decided by three points.
I don’t see how this Sunday will be any different. Atlanta is designed to keep pace with the best offenses in the league and they should smell blood in the water walking into Jerry’s World with this banged up Cowboys team.
Bonus Teaser for the most loyal readers:
Chiefs -2.5 and 49ers -0.5
